Near the beginning of the year I conducted this project with my Grade 7 Health class. We explored different learning preferences, and what they meant. Students then took many tests to determine their preferred way to learn. Students conducted research developing strategies to help them study and stay prepared for Junior High. To ensure this was valuable learning opportunity for students, it was a requirement to build some sort of product to present to a Core teacher of their choice. Some students made videos, while others wrote letters to their teachers. Other students created a hands on model representation of their learning style with strategies written all over. Find the assignment attached below. Student feedback suggested they loved this product and that they "tried harder because they knew they would be sharing it with someone else." Other comments suggested that by sharing their strategies their teachers would be able to help them be "more successful."
